Local Business Hosts Auto Show to Raise Money for Blood Cancer Research and Awareness

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – A local business is hosting a car show to raise money for cancer research and awareness.

The FirstSource Builders in Eau Claire held a fundraiser to raise $6,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The money would also go towards an upcoming event at Harriet Island in Minnesota.

“We’re trying to raise money for the society and light up LLS’ nightly event, which is happening September 22 on Harriet Island in the Twin Cities,” said Ryan Anger, who organized the show. automobile on Saturday afternoon.

The event was $5 for those who wanted to get in their car or even just watch and enjoy the car show.

“If you get into a car you get a ping pong ball and there’s a number on that ping pong ball and it’s linked to a, a prize that was actually given away. So anywhere from a six month membership to a local gym or a hat. So it’s the luck of the draw,” Anger said.

Builders FirstSource has also held other events to raise funds for the LLS, but the idea of hosting the car show is something new.

“Someone, some people brought up the idea of a car show to raise money. And we all got on board. And it seems, you know, we got the word out and uh, it looks like a lot of people are joining us.

They hope to bring the auto show back next year.

“We plan to do this for years to come,” Anger said.
