• Los Angeles-based distributor Winc reported financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2022, in which total net income was flat at $17.6 million. This lack of change belies a shift in the company’s revenue mix, with wholesale revenue jumping 32% from the same period last year. Wholesale revenue hit $6.3 million while DTC revenue fell 12% to $11.1 million. Winc posted a net loss of $4 million for the quarter. “The strength of our wholesale growth in the second quarter continued to reflect strong execution against core strategies to grow our business and leverage the power of our unique omnichannel platform,” said CEO Geoff McFarlane.

•The Dalmore has added a new 14-year-old single malt to its Scotch whiskey portfolio. The new expression is exclusive to the US market and will be available from September. The 43.8% alcohol whiskey is finished in Gonzalez Byass’ Pedro Ximénez casks and will be a permanent addition to the brand’s main whiskey collection, which also includes Dalmore’s 18 Year Old Malt and King Alexander Whiskey. III, among other expressions. In the United States, the Dalmore is managed by Spirit of Gallo.

•Indianapolis, Indiana’s Mom Water expanded its distribution footprint, adding 10 new in-person retail markets alongside 15 other new states through online retail. The brand’s new in-person markets are Maryland, Washington DC, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Arizona, Minnesota, Virginia and Mississippi. This expansion will bring the company’s fruit-flavored vodka-infused still water portfolio to a total of 35 states by the end of the month. The line comes in four flavors and is canned at 4.5% abv with 90 calories per serving. Mom Water is currently available in 4 individual flavor packs and 8 variety packs.

• Fresh Vine Wine, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, launches Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine. The new release marks the seventh varietal in its range of low carb, low sugar and low calorie offerings. It’s available now at select retailers with national distribution coming soon. It’s also available on the company’s website and other e-commerce retailers for $25 a bottle. Fresh Vine was founded last year by actresses Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough.

• Sydney, Australia-based super premium coffee liqueur brand Mr Black is launching a limited-edition collaboration with Ilegal Mezcal. The new release is Mezcal Cask Coffee Liqueur, which rested for three months in Ilegal’s American oak barrels, themselves shipped from Oaxaca to Australia. After aging, Mr Black fortified the liquid with fresh young mezcal. Only 15,600 bottles were produced and it will cost $50 per 750ml. The Mezcal Cask coffee liqueur is currently available online and will hit stores in major markets nationwide on September 1.
